The panel will provide first-hand insights on the turbulent and rapidly evolving U.S. and European mobile gaming markets, and demonstrate how to navigate this increasingly critical area of international expansion. They'll share successes and failures of their own past efforts, discuss the subtle yet sometimes significant differences in distribution and localization, and share what they believe should be done to address the remaining challenges for mobile game makers extending their cross-Atlantic reach.

Speakers
Paul Chen | VP Business Development, PlayFirst, Inc.
Paul Chen is vice president of business development for PlayFirst, Inc. and is responsible for the development and growth of the company's mobile business initiatives, including strategic partnerships and new market opportunities. Prior to PlayFirst, Chen was vice president of developer relations at PapayaMobile, helping to build the ecosystem of developers and partners that supported the Papaya social gaming network. Chen was also previously product manager for NVIDIA's line of Tegra application processors, held various engineering roles at Advanced Micro Devices, and covered the tech sector in investment banking for Salomon Smith Barney. Chen holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC-Berkeley and an MBA from Columbia University.

Chris Pitz | VP of Mobile Marketing and Publishing, Kabam
Chris Pitz is vice president of mobile marketing & publishing for Kabam, the leader in the Western world for free-to-play core games. Chris joined Kabam in 2010 to help expand the company's growing business and oversees marketing, partnerships and user acquisition for mobile. Previously, Chris developed marketing strategies for clients while at Google and Yahoo. Chris started his career at J.D. Power and Associates, where he worked extensively with automotive executives on market research and planning. Chris received a B.A. in Finance from Michigan State University.

Vincent Dondaine | COO, BulkyPix
Vincent has been in the gaming industry for 13 years, from tester to company founder, from physical gaming industry to digital distribution. Vincent has a global view on a very fast moving industry where everything is changing on a 6-month basis: hardware, software, working methods and marketing. Vincent co-founded Bulkypix in 2008. Bulkypix is now one of the mobile industry's fastest growing international publishers, with more than 140 titles published on iOS and Android.

Jameel Khalfan | Publishing, Pocket Gems
Jameel Khalfan leads publishing efforts at Pocket Gems, one of the pioneers in free-to-play mobile gaming. Jameel previously led paid user acquisitions at Pocket Gems during the time that its titles Tap Zoo and Tap Pet Hotel were the #1 and #4 top grossing iPhone apps of 2011. Prior to Pocket Gems, Jameel worked at Globespan Capital Partners, where he evaluated new investment opportunities in technology startup companies. Jameel was previously a product manager at Microsoft, where he drove product strategy and development on Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows Live. Jameel held positions with Digitas and Orange before joining Microsoft. Jameel earned degrees in Computer Science / Media Studies and Management Science from MIT, and sits on the Board of Directors for MIT's Alumni Association.

Oscar Clark | Evangelist, Everyplay - Applifier
Oscar Clark is a consultant and evangelist for Everyplay from Applifier. He has had many years of experience with online, mobile and console social games, and is an outspoken speaker at games conferences, including GDC, Casual Connect, Game Connection and Develop, on freemium design and monetisation. He is a mentor for accelerator GameFounders, and has also guest lectured on social freemium games design at UCA Farnham, NFTS and University Campus Suffolk. Additionally, he is currently writing 'Games As A Service: How Free To Play Design Can Make Better Games', which will be published by Focal Press.
