Track: Business and Management

Format: Panel

Experience Level: All

Description: Next generation consoles and PC hardware bring with them a rabid fan base that wants to see something truly amazing. They have been shown screen shots for over a year now with a few select high profile titles to make their mouths' water. So how do you get them interested in your new title they haven't heard of before? What is this next generation of users hoping to hear about and see in your games? This panel will take traditional PR techniques and talk about what works and what doesn't for this group of consumers. We will offer advice on getting your title into the mainstream mind, talk about potential pitfalls, and discuss practical ways to move forward.

Idea Takeaway: Attendees will learn what PR techniques are better suited for next generation consoles and today’s gamers. They will also learn which ones to not use in their next campaign. The roles of both developers and publishers will be addressed. As technology changes so should our marketing.

Intended Audience: No previous knowledge is required. Techniques we will talk about will be easily understood by anyone familiar with publications and the news they print. This session is geared for people working in marketing, developer executives and anyone else who wants to get their titles talked about.
