Art Department Confidential Speakers: Seth Spaulding Track: Visual Arts Format: Lecture Experience Level: Advanced Description: This session is designed to cover Art Department Management issues specific to the games industry including; starting an art department, managing growth in a larger company and maintaining an effective department in an industry whose skill set evolves every five years. Issues we address in detail also include; different models of departmental organization, roles and responsibilities, building a great team culture, creating visual styles, interfacing with other departments, project and departmental budgeting, determining salary levels, and the integration of outsourcers. Attendees come away with a greater understanding of art department management issues and inter-departmental relationships in general.
