Vision, Lecture

Peter Molyneux
, Lionhead Studios
Game play is that magic ingredient by which a game ultimately succeeds or fails. Intangible and difficult to get right, it is still what this industry is founded on. But with the games industry starting to mature and audiences becoming more mainstream, it is perhaps time to look at new gameplay devices.
Lionhead’s ambition is to create a game which pushes the boundaries of what we consider to be possible and the Dimitri project, which has been in conception for two years now, certainly does that. Peter Molyneux discusses the steps that are being taken to create a title which attempts to advance the concept of gameplay. This talk encompasses the idea of new gameplay devices and styles as well as Lionhead's new approach to the development of ambitious titles. It focuses particularly of concept and design.

Using examples from the Dimitri project, Peter Molyneux gives attendess tools to help them push gameplay beyond what their imaginations allow.
